After 66 years of bringing toys and happiness to the San Mateo community, Talbot’s Toyland will be closing. General Manager, Keith Schumacker, who has been employed by the business since he was 15 years old, blamed minimum wage hikes as one of the factors that contributed to the difficult decision. “The economy is great and everybody is employed and everybody is making money…but retail is suffering,” he said.
