After more than 7 decades in business, the popular Upper East Side restaurant, Burger Heaven, will be closing its doors for good. The owner of the restaurant blamed a myriad of evolving and challenging issues, including minimum wage increases, as the driving force behind the decision to close. Ed Levine, a long time patron of the establishment and manager of the food site, Serious Eats, said: “It’s just really hard to make a living as an independent, mom and pop operation in New York, no matter how loyal your customers are, you can’t compete.”
