Much to the dismay of the community, ShopRite in West Hartford, CT, made the decision to close its doors after the Governor signed a bill into law that will raise the state’s minimum wage to $15 an hour. A statement put out by the store read, “A challenging business climate impacted by rising costs, regulations and the new minimum wage increase led to the difficult decision to close our doors on Nov. 26.”
