Owner Firas Masarweh closed his Berkeley, Ca. restaurant, which served the city for more than six years, because the city’s minimum wage made wages too expensive.
Masarweh said whenever he raised his prices, customers found the food too expensive. “If you’re a small mom-and-pop shop, you can’t survive,” Masarweh said.
