The recent pay hike for minimum wage earners in New York has caused a decrease in the number of staff per shift at McGirk’s Irish Pub. Restaurant owner Tim Ward explained, “”I have to try and absorb this cost somehow because a 50 percent increase in pay? No business can survive that.”
