“Higher minimum wage also comes with some labor burden,” acknowledged Felix Ngoussou, who owns the Lake Chad Cafe in Seattle’s Central District. Ngoussou was speaking at a Seattle I-1433 campaign kickoff at another local business when he continued, “At the end of the day, we resolved one problem, but we create more problems to come.” As a result of Seattle’s minimum wage hikes, Ngoussou stated that he has already had to reduce the number of employees he has, “I used to have four. I now have two.”
