Huddle House restaurants are switching to automation in the workplace due to minimum wage increases. Michael Abt, the CEO of Huddle House states in reference to a $15 minimum wage, “It essentially doubles the cost of your crew wages. Sales in the restaurant industry grow maybe at 1 to 2 percent a year if you’re lucky. So, if you’re going to double your crew wages there’s no way to keep up with it from a sales standpoint.”
